In love with Lyon!
In Love with Lyon! Whenever I can, I make a stop in Lyon. And always, making time for a long lunch in this capital of gastronomy. Just ten minutes from the train station Part Dieu is Les Halles de Paul Boucuse, a mecka for foodies.

With some more time, take the Metro or tram over to the old town. On the top of the hill you have both the Basilica and beside that, what looks like a small Eiffel tower. Actually it’s a tele tower but definitely inspiration to the big one in Paris.
In the alleys of this old town, you can also find a lot of blind alleys, false doors and hidden passages, all to fool the Germans during WWIl. A dream for kids in all ages, google for the map.

Mostly, you must go discovering the secrets of the Bouchons Lyonnais. There are only around 30 restaurants licensed to stand high demands, of following the recipies that the old mothers of Lyon used for traditional cooking.

We were lucky to get a at @aubergedescanuts and what a lunch. Salades lyonnais, quenelles des brochets, tarte praliné and som wonderful bourgogne wines from up the valley🥰

Afterwards, which I can warmly recommend: @musee.cinema.miniature just a few steps up the alley. Complete interieurs from the movie ”The Perfume”, behind the scenes from a range of films, extremly details minitures from all kinds of Lyonnais buildings, an abandoned hotel, a bouchon and more. Don’t miss!

On your way back, take a beautiful walk crossing the bridges over the presquîle where the rivers Saône et Rhône meet. Around Place Bellecours you have plenty of places to stop for a coffee och just to enjoy the city.
For just a short stop, head ten minutes from the statin to Les Halles de Paul Boucuse, with everything a gourmand would ever long for.

Here you can read more about Lyon, for a longer stop. We continued with the train to our destination for the holidays, Nice, with Italy within reach☀️
